With many notable attractions such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the lovely market town of Bakewell only a short drive away, landmarks like the dramatic ‘gritstone edges’ at Froggatt, Curbar and Stanage; the Blue John caverns at Castleton and the twin dams on the Derwent/Ladybower Reservoirs - famously used during training for the WW2 Dambusters Raids - are also within easy reach. The Maynard has long been a popular base for walkers, ramblers and climbers in the Peak District, with a wide choice of walks, routes and climbs of varying distances and degrees of difficulty, all within easy reach of this Peak district hotel.
